This is the first poster I ever made of the star image, designed around the concept of the star as an icon of Soviet propaganda, which is also why the whole face is red except for the eyes. After I created the streamlined Andre face, I cut out a star from a piece of paper and used the paper as a window to see how I could fit the face inside the star. The height and weight spelled out below mimics the Soviet propaganda style, where type becomes just a design element and it doesn’t even matter what it says.
