These are prints used to make sure that the color (and everything else) is to the liking of the artist. I was once told that Shepard Fairey keeps prints 1-20 of each of his prints, and sells the APs to make up for this gap. Im not sure how true this is, because I have personally received a print numbered 20 directly from Obey.

Some people say that the APs are worth more, while others say they are worth no more. They are only worth more if you like them more. But most people do like them more, as they sell at auction for more than their numbered counterparts.
